Julia Buscemi

SHE/HER

Operations Support Manager

Julia is committed to increasing access to mental health, expanding the concept of wellness, and working together through relationship building. Julia believes strongly in mutual care, removing the illusion of separateness to build true community to lean on, grow into, and the power of youth at the center of this shift.

Julia has spent the past few years working in nonprofits throughout King County, cementing the desire for a career within value-aligned organizations such as AHSHAY. With a background in ecology and agriculture, Julia has worked at community-powered organizations that bring together people and partners through gardening, education, and access to the abundance that is a local food system. In her role, she will be supporting the people that make our dynamic programming happen and overall successful operations of AHSHAY.

In life outside of work, you’ll find Julia exploring the beautiful landscape of the Pacific Northwest, basking in the healing power of nature, and spending quality time with loved ones. Julia enjoys cooking elaborate meals, fiber arts, and swimming.

Our job is to resist and destroy the systems that turn our lives into fuel for exploiting, planet-destroying industries. We must both invent new and restore old ways of living with each other, ways that nurture life, connection, belonging, and liberation.
